Berryville Timber Frame Barn
40'x100' timber frame barn with integrated residence
Project Story
The clients needed a dual-purpose structure—a large-scale agricultural barn plus modern living quarters—on a scenic hillside in Clarke County. We used traditional timber frame construction with heavy exposed beams and a stone foundation to provide structural integrity and aesthetic warmth. The integrated 'tiny house' living space maximizes vertical space with a loft accessible by ladder, while oversized windows and wide double doors blur the line between indoor and outdoor living.
Key Challenge
Hillside site requiring careful grading; dual-use design needed to meet both agricultural and residential building codes
